Although rain showered down on the Sugarman Estate on this wedding day last March, the beautiful blending of Emi and Ignacio’s families was all the illumination we could have hoped for. After the bride’s daughter and the groom exchanged leis, accepting and acknowledging each other now and forever as family, the newlyweds walked down their grassy isle adorned with orange and cream petals that mirrored the bouquets of both mother and daughter created by Petals
The simple and elegant ceremony was followed by an evening of Pacific inspired food and hands-on entertainment. Although the professional hula dancers were incredible, it was the performance by some of the enthusiastic guests that stole the show. Such a wonderful evening to be a part of!
With a touch a bling and blue, the guests were greeted with a few gifts from the islands in the form of Lauhala baskets (Lau meaning "leaf" in Hawaiian and referring to the leaves of the Hala tree) containing delicious, locally made jams.
After dinner, guests enjoyed the whimsical candy station that was specifically requested by Emi's daughter. What a fun, colorful reminder that this wedding was truly meant to encompass all spectrums of the joining families.
